Shipping policy
We’ve spent generations figuring out how to make really great pickles. So getting fresh, refrigerated pickles to your doorstep takes a little more care than tossing a box of snacks in the mail.
Every shipping decision we make has one goal: getting your pickles to you fresh, cool, crunchy, and ready to enjoy. We store them cold, pack them in insulated packaging with gel packs, and carefully time each shipment to keep their journey from our fridge to yours as short as possible.
A quick note about merch: Pickles get the refrigerated shipping treatment. Our shirts, hoodies, and other pickle gear ship separately and may use a different carrier, so delivery times and tracking may differ.
Where We Ship
We currently ship to the 48 contiguous United States—the lower 48—only.
We’re unable to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, parcel lockers, USPS GoPost locations, or APO, FPO, and DPO addresses. A valid street address is required.
We’d love to send pickles everywhere, but fresh, refrigerated pickles and long, unpredictable transit times aren’t exactly best friends.
Shipping Carriers
We generally ship pickles using FedEx Home Delivery for residential addresses and FedEx Ground for commercial addresses.
When We Ship
We process and ship pickle orders Monday through Friday, excluding most U.S. national holidays. We don’t fulfill or ship orders on Saturdays or Sundays.
Because every order of pickles travels with gel packs, we’re pretty particular about when we hand it off to FedEx. Pickles belong in your fridge—not sitting in a truck all weekend.
-
Monday–Wednesday: Orders placed before 11:30 a.m. generally ship the same day. The cutoff is based on the local time at the fulfillment center handling the order. We usually ship from the refrigerated fulfillment center closest to the delivery address.
-
After the cutoff: Orders placed after 11:30 a.m. on Monday or Tuesday generally ship the following day. Orders placed after the cutoff on Wednesday follow our Thursday–Friday shipping schedule.
-
Thursday–Friday: Orders placed before 11:30 a.m. generally ship the same day if the delivery address is within a one-day FedEx transit zone of one of our refrigerated fulfillment centers in Nevada, Missouri, or Pennsylvania. Orders outside a one-day transit zone generally ship the following Monday.
-
Saturday–Sunday: We don’t fulfill orders over the weekend, although FedEx may deliver packages on Saturday or Sunday depending on the destination and service area.
Refrigerated Packaging and Arrival
Every jar of pickles leaves one of our refrigerated fulfillment centers cold and is packed in insulated packaging with gel packs to help keep it cool in transit.
The gel packs may thaw along the way, and your pickles may not feel ice-cold when they arrive. That’s normal. So is some condensation or sweating. If the jars are sealed and the pickles smell fresh, get them in the fridge as soon as they arrive, let them chill, and enjoy!
If a jar does happen to arrive damaged, unsealed, or otherwise seems off, please let us know at love@joshspickles.com so we can make it right.
Delivery Times and Tracking
We don’t currently offer a separate express-shipping upgrade. Most refrigerated orders arrive within 1–2 days after shipping, although some remote addresses may require up to 3 days via FedEx.
Delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees. Weather, carrier delays, holidays, and other events outside our control can occasionally slow things down.
Once your order ships, we’ll send you a tracking number by email or SMS. That link will provide the most current delivery estimate and let you follow your pickles all the way to your door.
